Drowning Incident In Imlay City

A 19-year-old man from Imlay City drowned while swimming in a pond at Hewitt’s Pit in the Port Huron State Game Area on Saturday evening. Around 6 p.m., police received calls about a drowning incident. The young man and his friends were crossing the pond when he started struggling and went under. Despite their attempts to help and calling 911, he could not be saved. The St. Clair County Dive Team later found him. Local fire departments and emergency services also assisted in the recovery effort.
