Five Michigan Cities Make The 2017 Top 100 Best Cities To Raise Kids In U.S.

The National Council for Home Safety and Security recently announced their ranking of the Top 100 Best Cities to Raise Kids in the U.S. for 2017.  The top city is San Ramon, California. And, where does Michigan fit in?  Ann Arbor ranked #19 – with Rochester Hills at #37 – Farmington Hills at 43 – Livonia making #70 and Troy at #71.   A total of 526 cities met the standards for inclusion in this ranking. The following metrics were considered:  Education (percentage of 18 to 24 year olds that did not graduate from high school); Income (median household income); Crime (number of violent crimes, population size);Health Insurance: (number of insured children 6-17).  The National Council for Home Safety and Security is a trade association comprised of home security professionals across the United States.
