After one hour and fifteen minutes the jury found Manuel Gamez guilty of murdering Melissa Ichenberg and Daniel McRoberts in July 2013. Gamez, 32, was found guilty as charged on all counts: Two counts of first degree murder, two counts of torture, and one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct. The two victims were found dead in a bathtub at Ichenberg’s Port Huron townhouse July 30 of last year. Medical examiner records showed Ichenberg had been strangled, and McRoberts had at least 42 stab and incise wounds. The trial in front of St. Clair County Circuit Judge Michael West took ten days with more than 35 witnesses. Sentencing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. September 17.
