Let The Blue Water Fest Begin!

The Blue Water Fest in downtown Port Huron will officially kick off Wednesday at 3 p.m. with the opening of the Blue Water Fest Carnival, followed by the Rotary International Day Parade which begins at 6:30 p.m.   According to John Adair, co-chair of the Parade, it will be super-hero-themed this year with some 100 participants which include floats, marching bands, and a number balloon and big heads entries from the Parade Company in Detroit.  The city of Port Huron is expecting about 20,000 spectators along the route which runs from Huron Avenue at Glenwood, heading south down Military Street to Griswold.  On Thursday, Family Night will kick off along the Black River as the carnival continues from 3 to 11 p.m., the Taste of Port Huron, featuring a number of local restaurants and fireworks will conclude the festivities Thursday evening.
