Tomorrow night, the Anchor will drop from the tower attached to McMorran Place in downtown Port Huron. There will be live entertainment, food and refreshments, ice skating, and a midnight countdown to the New Year. The event begins with McMorran Boulevard between Huron Avenue and Erie Street closing to traffic and at 6 p.m. Cliff Erickson will be performing in the heated beer tent, followed by Detroit group, the Mike Leslie Band. At 10:00 p.m. to midnight free open skate is offered in the McMorran Arena, and at midnight the anchor drop will be the countdown to the New Year. The event is sponsored by McMorran and is supported by corporate and private sponsors, funded through beer and concession sales.
