A 22-year-old Port Huron woman has been arrested following the discovery of her boyfriend’s child who was found in critical condition at a home in the 800 block of 13th Street in Port Huron in July. Charlisa Wood was charged Sunday with torture, first degree child abuse, and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, according to a statement from the Port Huron Police Department. Police were called to the residence on 13th street on July 25 after receiving reports of a possible drowning. When officers arrived they found a four-year-old boy found in the bathtub, he was resuscitated, transported to McLaren Port Huron hospital and then airlifted to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. The child’s reported injuries included severe immersion burns, bruises, deep scratches, abrasions, and a lacerated liver. He has since been discharged and placed into foster care. Two other children were removed from the home by Child Protective Services.
