BWCA raised critical funds in just 24 hours, boosting their Backpack Giveaway and other youth programs. Eight people were hospitalized after a fire broke out at an apartment on 10th Street in Port Huron early Tuesday morning. Fire crews arrived around 1:24 a.m. and brought the flames under control in 20 minutes. The fire was fully out after two hours. Victims suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to McLaren Port Huron and Lake Huron Medical Center. Firefighters from Fort Gratiot, Marysville, and Port Huron Township helped at the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
