Active Shooter Drill Sparks Police Response

Thursday morning in Cass City, Medilodge triggered a response from police and nearby agencies after a 911 call reported an active shooter. The call came around 9:15 a.m., but it was soon clarified that the facility was conducting a planned active shooter drill. During the drill, Medilodge went into lockdown, but someone unaware of the exercise mistakenly called 911. Cass City Police officers still responded to gather details and confirmed there was no real threat. Officials reassured residents that this was a safety practice, not an emergency.
