An emergency alert went out to Port Huron residents early Sunday morning notifying them of an armed suspect at large. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after removing the safety threat to the community.
The subject, a 29 year old white male named Andrew Shawn Benjamin, was wanted in question for an assault. He was on foot in the area of 12th Street and Bancroft in Port Huron.
The situation is under investigation.
