Dads Receive Less Affection Than Pets According To Study

Everyone expresses their feelings and affections differently, but who are the most and least likely individuals to receive, or be shown love and affection in the United States?

Based on a study conducted by preply.com, 66% of people in the U.S. share fond words on a daily basis.

When it comes to who is receiving those words of affection, dads are at the bottom of the list. Only 25% of individuals say that they share affectionate words with their father. Coming in at the top of the list at 95%, individuals polled say that their partner receives the majority of their love and affection, as one might imagine.

Second on the list are pets at 64%, followed by moms at 46%, friends at 35%, and siblings at 27% of those who receive affectionate or loving words via text, phone calls and other means.

Keep these numbers in mind and send dad some kind words today, it could go a long way for those individuals who receive the least of our love and affection.

Tribute Tuesday allows anyone from the community to pay tribute to, or recognize a teacher or student in the PHASD that they feel deserves recognition. Those individuals will then be shared on the Port Huron Schools Facebook page.

All entries will be considered for the annual Advocator, Innovator, and Educator of the Year awards given during Teacher Appreciation Week in May.

To recognize a local teacher or student you can email the superintendent at: superintendent@phasd.us or go to phasd.us and click “Staff Recognition Form” under the “Parent/Student” scroll down.
