Fatal Collision at Notorious Intersection

On Wednesday afternoon, St. Clair County Central Dispatch received a call on a tragic collision at Shea and Starville Roads. It claimed the life of a 52-year-old Clay Township man, Joseph Richard Quesnell. While driving a Ford Ranger, Quesnell stopped at the intersection but then proceeded, leading to a crash with a pickup traveling west on Shea Road. Emergency responders pronounced Quesnell dead at the scene. The intersection, known for previous accidents, has stop signs on Starville Road with warnings about Shea’s free-flowing traffic.

Sheriff’s Office Seeks Package Thief

The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying a man caught stealing packages from a home in Worth Township. The theft happened last Tuesday around 2 p.m. at a residence on Wildcat Rd. The suspect was seen driving a red Dodge pickup. The Sheriff’s Office posted the suspect’s picture on social media. Anyone with information is urged to contact Deputy Chad Schmidt, Sanilac County Dispatch, or submit an anonymous tip through the Sheriff’s app.

Midtown Trail Cleanup

Sarnia’s Midtown Trail will be cleaned up on April 26, as part of ongoing efforts to improve this popular walking and cycling route. Stretching from Lambton College to downtown, the trail has seen major upgrades to make it more accessible and connected. nuSarnia, a local group focused on revitalizing public spaces, is organizing the cleanup. Volunteers will meet at Finch Avenue at 9 a.m. Organizers say the cleanup is vital for keeping the trail welcoming. Gloves, bags, and refreshments will be provided.
