Boy Scouts Of America Rebrands To Scouting America After 114 Years

The Boy Scouts of America announced their upcoming name change to Scouting America, marking a significant shift in its 114-year history. 

This rebrand aims to emphasize inclusion and help the organization move past bankruptcy and numerous sexual abuse claims. Previously exclusive, the organization only recently began allowing gay youths and girls to join. 

The announcement, made at the annual meeting in Florida, underscores a renewed focus on welcoming all American youths. Roger Krone, the new president and CEO, emphasized the goal of inclusivity. 

The change will officially take effect on February 8th, 2025, coinciding with the organization’s 115th birthday. Branding expert David Aaker praised the rebranding as a strategic move to spark a new conversation while staying true to its mission.
