Port Huron’s Blue Water Recovery and Outreach Center will use $156,000 from Michigan’s opioid settlement to fund three recovery coach salaries, following City Council’s approval. This funding is part of the $264,571 the city received from the state’s legal settlement with opioid manufacturers and distributors. The recovery coaches, who often share lived experience, support locals battling addiction. This year alone, the Center has fielded over 5,000 calls and supports 275 weekly group attendees.
