A newly improved nature preserve near South Haven is now open after a ribbon cutting that doubled as a family event. Casco Township leaders celebrated upgrades at the preserve on Blue Star Highway, including new restrooms, parking, and signage, partly funded by a $291,000 state grant. Families enjoyed games, safety demos, and free treats while officials highlighted the 19-acre site’s protected natural areas and rare public views of Lake Michigan. A new “Back to the Beach” campaign is also underway to restore safe shoreline access.
