A 60-year-old Yale woman is recovering after a single-vehicle crash Thursday night in Marlette Township. Around 9:25 p.m., her Jeep Liberty was heading north on Gosline Road north of Montgomery Road when it left the roadway, struck several trees, and rolled into the ditch. Deputies, Marlette police, fire crews, and Aspire EMS responded quickly, pulled her from the wreckage, and rushed her to Aspire Marlette Hospital for treatment of possible injuries. Most Stores Pass Underage Alcohol Sting

Port Huron Police say most local stores are doing their part to keep alcohol out of the hands of minors. On Tuesday, officers sent underage decoys into 31 licensed businesses in the city. Thirty of them refused to sell alcohol and passed the check. Only one store failed: the Kroger at 2907 Krafft Road. Police are praising the compliant businesses and reminding all sellers to always check IDs. This helps stop underage drinking before it starts.

Historic Fead Building Redevelopment

Port Huron City Council unanimously approved a plan Monday to redevelop the historic Fead Building on Poplar Street. The century-old former mill at 1635 Poplar will become a $6.8 million mixed-use project with 26 new loft apartments, ground-floor shops, a tenant dog park, and plenty of parking. Developers can recover up to $1.4 million in costs through future property taxes generated by the site. Residents and leaders say the project is exactly the kind of smart reuse the north side needs. Work could start this summer.
