Yale and Marysville Public Schools Partner With SC4 To Simplify College Enrollment Process For High School Seniors

Yale and Marysville Public Schools along with St. Clair County Community College (SC4) have joined forces in a pioneering effort to revolutionize the college enrollment process for high school seniors. Effective immediately, graduating seniors from Yale and Marysville Public Schools will no longer need to complete a college application to gain admission to SC4.

This innovative collaboration aims to facilitate a seamless transition from high school to higher education, providing students with immediate access to scholarships, advising, and essential college services.

Starting with the class of 2024, student data from Yale and Marysville Public Schools will be integrated into SC4’s system, enabling seniors to activate their SC4 accounts and initiate enrollment procedures for the Fall 2024 semester without delay.

Graduates can anticipate receiving a letter in early May outlining the initiative’s benefits and providing instructions on how to activate their SC4 accounts, with further guidance to follow.

Michigan Residents Rally For Local Autonomy In Industrial Energy Zoning

Michigan residents are uniting in a grassroots movement to reclaim local control over the siting of renewable energy installations.

Responding to Public Act 233 of 2023, which centralizes power over utility-scale wind and solar projects at the state level, citizens are advocating for the restoration of local decision-making authority.

Spearheaded by Citizens for Local Choice, a bipartisan coalition, efforts are underway to overturn the act through a ballot initiative. The initiative aims to ensure that local governments retain their traditional zoning and land use authority. With the outcome of this fight poised to set a precedent for future energy policies and local governance nationwide, organizers are urging residents to support the cause by signing the petition and participating in upcoming events, including a day of action on May 4th.
