Check For These Blood Pressure Medicine Recalls

Individuals dealing with the effects of hypertension, or high blood pressure may want to check their medicine cabinets to ensure that your medication isn’t a part of the latest recall.

Two lots of quinapril and hydrochlorothiazide tablets, produced by Aurobindo Pharma USA are being recalled due to high levels of nitrosamines, which when taken over long periods, may increase the risk of cancer. The two lots of the 20mg/12.5 mg are included in the recall with expiration dates through January 2023. The tablets are round, pink-colored, and have a “D” printed on one side and “19” on the other.

November is Veterans and Military Families Month

In support of Michigan veterans, Governor Whitmer has recognized November 1st – 5th as Veterans Small Business Week and the entire month of November as Veterans and Military Families Month.

Veterans Small Business week is meant to highlight local small businesses owned by Michigan veterans. There are several programs available through the State of Michigan that help veterans start their own businesses and provide professional development for those who already have.

Veterans can learn more about the VA Business Accelerator program and Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for veterans with disabilities by visiting the State’s website here:

Whitmer encourages all Michiganders to support military families during the month of November, especially those who have deployed members.

Whitmer said, “This month, we thank Michigan’s brave service members and veterans for their service and sacrifices to keep us safe and secure our freedoms. We also recognize the families of service members for supporting their moms or dads, aunts and uncles, brothers or sisters, sons or daughters while on deployment. We owe those who serve and their families our gratitude and we pledge ourselves to work together to help them thrive.”
