Families are advised to stay alert and verify any such calls.

A Port Huron woman faces serious charges after a deadly shooting on 10th Avenue. Police say Jennifer Goodall has been arraigned for open murder, felony firearm, and buying a pistol without a license. The victim, Chase Hoyt, died after being shot during a domestic dispute late last Wednesday night. Officers say an 11-year-old child was inside the home but was not hurt. Goodall was taken into custody at the scene and remains in the St. Clair County Jail as the investigation continues.

St. Clair County is searching for a new District 5 commissioner after Robert Fielitz resigned on August 29. District 5 includes the City of St. Clair and the townships of East China, Kimball, and St. Clair. Port Huron Police have donated a patrol cruiser to kick off a new public safety program at the St. Clair County Technical Education Center. A deadly domestic dispute shook Port Huron late last Wednesday night. Police say they responded to a home on 10th Avenue just after 11 and found a 23-year-old man shot in the stomach. Officers gave CPR until EMS rushed him to the hospital, where he later died. A 40-year-old woman was arrested and taken to the St. Clair County Jail.
