Early Morning Fire

A fire early Thursday morning in Lapeer County sent two residents to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The blaze broke out around 8:10 a.m. at the Pines Lapeer West Apartments on Village West Drive, near Zemmer School. Firefighters from several departments, including Lapeer, Elba, and Metamora Township, battled the flames, which spread to multiple units. Authorities closed Oregon Road for emergency access. Though the building wasn’t a total loss, significant damage was reported in several apartments. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

2025 Antique and Classic Boat Show
