Lambton County Library is teaming up with Service Canada to bring crucial government services to rural areas. Starting in January, Service Canada representatives will be available at libraries in Alvinston, Corunna, Forest, Thedford, Watford, and Wyoming to assist with applications for programs like Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan, and more. Port Huron residents should expect changes to their trash pickup schedule during the holidays. Christmas week collections will shift: Christmas day is moved to today, Dec. 26 and today moves to tomorrow, Dec. 27th. For New Year’s week, Wednesday, Jan. 1, will be collected on Thursday, Jan. 2nd, and Thursday will move to Friday, Jan. 3rd. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead to ensure their refuse is out on the correct day.
