Citizens’ Police Academy Educates Residents In Law Enforcement

Our local law enforcement authorities have a difficult job, protecting and serving the community. To give residents a glimpse of what it takes to be a law enforcement agent, the Port Huron Police Department is offering the community the Citizens’ Police Academy 2023.

The goal of the program is to educate and teach local residents about the many areas and aspects of law enforcement. The classes will be taught by PHPD officers and will cover topics such as, crash investigation, traffic stops, evidence, criminal law, arrests, and many more.

Classes will be held on Thursday nights from 6PM – 9PM, beginning March 16th – April 27th. The classes are free to those who wish to attend. Port Huron residents will be given priority, but those outside of the City of Port Huron are also encouraged to sign up. There is no cost or fee to attend. Registration deadline is February 23rd.

Meetings will be held at the Dr. Edward G. Acheson Applied Technology Center located at 323 Erie St, Port Huron, MI.
