It’s the season when barricades and detour signs begin to bloom and pop up all over the roads in Michigan. The City of Port Huron has begun another construction project that will cause residents to find alternate routes.
Gratiot Avenue, from Elmwood Street to Holland Avenue will be undergoing multiple improvements from now until approximately sometime in November.
A list of the improvements include:
- Complete road construction
- Replacement of select sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water main
- Upgrading of ADA maps
- New drive approaches and sidewalk
- Curb and gutter
- Repaving of the road
Funding sources for this project include the City of Port Huron’s street and utility funds, and Federal funding.
