Marlette City Council voted 4-2 Monday night to move forward with two ordinances allowing recreational marijuana businesses in the city. The proposed rules would permit one marijuana grow operation and one retail store. The ordinances will now be reviewed by the city’s planning and zoning committees before being presented to the public for a vote. In other business, the council discussed replacing City Manager Ryan Rudzis, who will leave in May. Former Police Chief Brian McGinnis expressed interest in serving as interim manager, and the council voted to begin talks with him.
