Defense Seeks Venue Change in Murder Case

The murder case against 36-year-old Sayon Florence has taken a new turn as her attorney pushes for a change of venue. Defense lawyers argue heavy media coverage and online comments in St. Clair County make it impossible to find an impartial jury. Florence is accused in the January 28th shooting death of Vincent Buckles at his Vanness Street home, a case that also charges Dazman Drake. Prosecutors oppose moving the trial, insisting jurors can remain fair. A hearing on the request is set for September 22nd.
