If you always thought your shot of the Blue Water Bridge or sunset over Lake Huron was worthy of display, there’s an upcoming chance to make it happen.
The Detroit Institute of Arts is offering photographers the opportunity to have their photos of the Great Lakes displayed in an upcoming gallery. The public photography will be displayed alongside the work of professional photographer Jeff Gaydash in an exhibit housed in the de Salle Gallery in the lower level of the DIA. Gaydash’s work focuses on the Great Lakes and his displays include some photos taken in Port Sanilac and Anchor Bay. The large scale black and white digital prints feature lakeside views in the “off season.”
Photographers of any skill level are encouraged to submit their own photos through Instagram with the hashtag #mygreatlakesatthedia. A selection of photos will be printed and displayed in the DIA’s de Salle Gallery. The exhibit runs through May 3.
