Drought Relief Loans

In Huron County and nearby Sanilac and Tuscola counties, small businesses and nonprofits hit hard by last summer’s drought can now get low-interest federal loans. The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering these Economic Injury Disaster Loans to cover unpaid bills, payroll, and other costs caused by the drought from June to November. Farmers and ranchers aren’t eligible, but nurseries and aquaculture businesses are. These loans aim to help local businesses recover without needing physical damage to qualify.
