To help meet the increasing demands of electricity use, the Michigan Public Service Commission has asked that the new Time of Day rates be implemented.
With the new Time of Day Rates, it allows the consumer to be in control of their energy usage which will have a profound effect on monthly rates.
Some DTE customers may have already begun seeing changes on their bills for the month of March, others will begin to see them this month and throughout the rest of the year.
Customers will have a peak hour hour period Monday – Friday from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. where their rates are increased from the standard 15.45¢ PER kWh to 16.75¢ PER kWh during the months from October – May, and 20.98¢ PER kWh June – September.
There will also be an off-peak hour period that occurs 20 hours each weekday plus all weekend.
