911 Service of Remembrance
As we approach the anniversary of the tragic events at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, we pause to honor the memory of those who selflessly gave their lives in the service of others. On that day, three hundred forty-three firefighters and seventy-two police officers made the ultimate sacrifice—running toward danger when so many were running away.
In tribute to those officers, firefighters, EMTs, and all who perished that day, as well as their families, we will hold a Service of Remembrance on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the International Flag Plaza on Thomas Edison Parkway (north of the Blue Water Bridges).
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Public Meeting Room at the Municipal Office Center, 100 McMorran Blvd.
