Invasive Knotweeds – A True Tale
October 27 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pmFree
This workshop brings awareness to invasive knotweed plants, such as Japanese Knotweed, and other invasive species throughout the watershed. Knotweeds are a family of invasive plants that cause property damage, degrade wildlife habitat, and reduce the diversity of native species. This workshop will teach how to identify, report and control this prohibited species. The workshop will feature Marianna Szucs, Assistant Professor in the Department of Entomology at Michigan State University, to discuss her on-going research using natural enemies, or biocontrols, to contain the plant. Several local sites are being considered for long-term knotweed biological control projects. Register in advance: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJAld-yqpjwsEtF_cGDflkNI2J1rdedMVWn2
