Meet and Greet Tanya Talaga

Is a Canadian born Anishinaabe who has worked in journalism since she edited the University of Toronto Newspaper. She studied political science and history. In 1995 she was hired by the Toronto Star as an intern working up to the Queen’s Park Bureau in 2009.
Ms. Talaga is an award-winning author visiting Sarnia Lambton to promote her newest novel “The Knowing”, a riveting novel that explores Canada’s history of Residential Schools from an Indigenous lens beginning with her great grandmother and the journey the family has endured because of Canada’s biggest open secret.

Ms. Talaga will be hosted at the Sarnia – Lambton Native Friendship Centre (233 Lochiel Street) Monday Dec. 2, 2024, where she will be discussing her novel at 1 pm.
