Opt Outside Hike

November 29 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Ditch the shopping! Grab your boots! Friends of the St. Clair River is leading an Opt Outside nature hike at Columbus County Park, 1670 Bauman Rd., Columbus, MI 48063 on Friday, November 29 at 10 a.m.. This is a free, family-friendly with hiking and a bonfire pit. Participants should meet at the park’s main lodge and dress appropriately for sun or snow. Registration is not required

Opt Outside was started by outdoor retailer REI in 2015 as an alternative to Black Friday shopping. Friends of the St. Clair River is encouraging families reduce overconsumption in exchange for a guided hike through the county park’s hills, wetlands, woodlands and riverbanks.

Friends of the St. Clair River is Michigan’s Thumb Coast largest environmental organization, providing meaningful experiences to engage the community in the protection of the St. Clair River and its watersheds through monitoring, stewardship, and advocacy.
