Sounds of Summer kicks off on June 2
May 14, 2026 — The City of Sarnia is once again gearing up to deliver the sounds of the
season and bring the community together.
Sounds of Summer, the 35-year tradition of free outdoor concerts held at parks
across the community returns for its 2026 run starting in June. This years lineup
features a mix of local and out-of-town performances, with Mitton Village
Parkette introduced as a new venue, alongside long-standing locations such as
Kenwick Park.
“Sounds of Summer continues to be a highlight of the season, bringing people
together through live music and the enjoyment of our public spaces. Each year,
it’s exciting to see our City parks come alive with music and local talent,” said
Recreation Coordinator, Rebecca Warren.
The series kicks off on Tuesday, June 2 with Scottish Night at the Suncor Agora in
Centennial Park, with shows continuing throughout the week. Opening week
features Sue & Ben on June 3 at Kenwick Park; Rob Dickson on June 3 at the
Mitton Village Parkette; and Work in Progress on June 4 at Germain Park.
Concerts continue to run throughout the summer until August 20 with more than
50 shows set to take place, featuring a wide range of genres including rock,
country, folk, jazz, pop, and more. Please note that there will be no concerts on
June 30, July 1, and August 3.
Shows are set to take place at five venues across the duration of the concert
series. This year’s venue lineup consists of Canatara Bandshell on Mondays;
Seaway Kiwanis Pavilion on Tuesday; Mitton Village Parkette and Kenwick Park
Gazebo on Wednesdays; and Germain Park Stage on Thursdays. All shows start
at 7 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to bring a lawn chair as seating is limited. For more
