The St. Clair County Down Syndrome Support Group hosts a Buddy Walk annually. Funds raised from the walk provides scholarships to assist families with educational, recreational, and medical needs. They also help us provide welcome “information” packets to share with new parents whose children were recently diagnosed with Down Syndrome, add books/videos to the lending library on topics related to Down Syndrome, and provide social/recreational activities for families to get together, share information, and encourage each other. The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society to promote acceptance, awareness, and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome.
