DESCRIPTION:Sounds of Summer kicks off on June 2\nMay 14\, 2026 — The City of Sarnia is once again gearing up to deliver the sounds of the\nseason and bring the community together.\nSounds of Summer\, the 35-year tradition of free outdoor concerts held at parks\nacross the community returns for its 2026 run starting in June. This years lineup\nfeatures a mix of local and out-of-town performances\, with Mitton Village\nParkette introduced as a new venue\, alongside long-standing locations such as\nKenwick Park.\n“Sounds of Summer continues to be a highlight of the season\, bringing people\ntogether through live music and the enjoyment of our public spaces. Each year\,\nit’s exciting to see our City parks come alive with music and local talent\,” said\nRecreation Coordinator\, Rebecca Warren.\nThe series kicks off on Tuesday\, June 2 with Scottish Night at the Suncor Agora in\nCentennial Park\, with shows continuing throughout the week. Opening week\nfeatures Sue & Ben on June 3 at Kenwick Park; Rob Dickson on June 3 at the\nMitton Village Parkette; and Work in Progress on June 4 at Germain Park.\nConcerts continue to run throughout the summer until August 20 with more than\n50 shows set to take place\, featuring a wide range of genres including rock\,\ncountry\, folk\, jazz\, pop\, and more. Please note that there will be no concerts on\nJune 30\, July 1\, and August 3.\nShows are set to take place at five venues across the duration of the concert\nseries. This year’s venue lineup consists of Canatara Bandshell on Mondays;\nSeaway Kiwanis Pavilion on Tuesday; Mitton Village Parkette and Kenwick Park\nGazebo on Wednesdays; and Germain Park Stage on Thursdays. SUMMARY:Robinson Tennis Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The Robinson is named after a local tennis player\, Lt. Francis J. Robinson\, a young serviceman who died in a military flight training mission in July 1958. A group of Lt. Robinson’s friends started a small tennis tournament in his honor that same summer. The “Robinson” has drawn between 200-400 participants annually\, with players 10 & under to 70 & over and is considered one of the longest running community tennis tournaments in the United States. The Robinson unites players from our local tennis community\, surrounding Michigan cities\, other states and Canada to come together for a fun-filled week of tennis each summer.
