Former St. Clair Middle School principal Mike Alley’s home on Turnberry Drive caught fire Tuesday morning while he was away. His wife and granddaughter, alerted by neighbors, escaped unharmed. Firefighters from multiple departments were still at the scene before noon. Alley expressed relief that the fire didn’t happen overnight, though the cause remains unknown.
