An electrical fire broke out Wednesday morning on the roof of Gallery 194 in downtown Lapeer, prompting a swift response from local fire crews. Around 9:17 a.m., a concerned caller alerted 911 dispatchers after noticing black smoke billowing from the building. Firefighters from Lapeer and Elba Township arrived just minutes later and discovered that an HVAC unit had malfunctioned, igniting a small fire.
