Governor Whitmer Proclaims March As Women’s History Month In Michigan, Advocates For Gender Equality

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has officially declared March as Women’s History Month, aiming to honor the achievements of women throughout the state’s history. Emphasizing the vital role of women in Michigan’s progress, Governor Whitmer expressed her commitment to advocating for women’s rights and equality. 

Cheryl Bergman, CEO of the Michigan Women’s Commission, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the importance of proactive efforts to uplift women’s voices and address pertinent issues. Gloria Lara, Civil Rights Commission Chair, emphasized the need for racial equality and increased diversity in leadership positions. 

Governor Whitmer’s advocacy extends to challenging outdated laws and promoting economic mobility, education, and constitutional rights for women and families across Michigan. Through collaboration and determination, the state aims to foster a more inclusive and equitable society.
