It’s construction season again, and the residents of Port Huron are facing detours due to construction taking place on one of its main streets.
The City of Port Huron began construction on April 10th, which involves Griswold Street from Military Street thru 24th Street. Funded by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the City of Port Huron’s street and utility funds, the project involves water main replacement and street resurfacing. The project is expected to be completed by November 2023.
Griswold will be closed to thru traffic from 6th Street thru 16th Street until September 2023. Parking within the north parking lane of Griswold Street from 6th Street to 16th Street will be prohibited. In the meantime, the public is expected to follow the posted detours or use alternate routes.
