For the 11th straight year, anonymous donors in Huron County are helping brighten Christmas for those facing hardships. In a few weeks, Sheriff deputies will deliver cash gifts or food certificates worth $100 to families affected by tough events, like illness, job loss, or losing a loved one. The donations also support local nonprofits aiding the homeless. Local leaders help identify recipients, and deputies work to deliver gifts quietly, often stretching into the new year. In the past 9 years, the Sheriff’s Office has distributed over $316,000 in cash and toys.
