Lambton College in Ontario is cutting staff and services as international student limits continue to hit enrollment hard. The school says student numbers have dropped more than 75 percent since federal rule changes, falling from about 12,600 in ’23 to a projected 2,900 in Sarnia this year. That decline is driving major budget gaps, including a $10.2 million deficit. About 30 percent of staff have been cut, with unions reporting more than 80 lost jobs and fewer class options for students.
