1986 – 2020   Professor of English/Journalism, St. Clair County Community College.  Taught numerous classes, including remedial and advanced courses; Communications Department Chair; past president, faculty union, St. Clair County District of Michigan Education Association, the Michigan Association of Higher Education (MAHE); past President, St. Clair County Educational Association; advisor, student newspaper The Erie Square Gazette; member, MAHE negotiating teams.  

1984-’85   Program writer, CBS/FOX Video, Novi, MI.  Wrote scripts based on management training materials; provided conceptuals; wrote/edited ancillaries; screened/edited video footage.

1982-’83   Instructional Assistant to Prof. Frank Ross, EMU.  Tutored students in literature; conducted large lecture classes; gave review sessions; prepared lectures.

1981-’82   Graduate assistant, EMU English Department; taught two composition classes; counseled; completed coursework for master’s degree.
