Taking A Shot At Breast Cancer Boosts Comfort For Patients At Ascension River District Hospital

In a heartwarming collaboration, Emily and Steve Goudy’s “Taking a Shot at Breast Cancer” initiative, backed by the Community Foundation of St. Clair County and generous donors since 2010, continues to extend a helping hand to local breast cancer patients. Recently, their support reached new heights as Ascension River District Hospital secured a combined grant of $18,352.

With a $10,000 contribution from “Taking a Shot at Breast Cancer” and an $8,352 grant from the Ascension River District Hospital fund (formerly St. John’s River District Hospital), the hospital procured four advanced infusion chairs. These chairs significantly enhance patient comfort during extended treatment sessions.

Jeannie Tamm, Manager of Clinical Programs at Ascension River District, expressed gratitude, stating, “Ensuring our patients’ utmost comfort is a priority. This collaborative effort embodies our commitment to comprehensive care.”

This kind of philanthropic partnership exemplifies the power of community support in the face of challenging circumstances.
