Major Sports Hub Plan

Sarnia city council has greenlit studies for a major sports and recreation hub on 27 acres off Michigan Avenue. Backed by local clubs, the project includes domes, trails, courts, and gardens. A public-private partnership has already raised $120,000 and started environmental work. If a key provincial grant comes through by September, the build could cost 75% less than a past $34-million proposal. The facility is expected to boost tourism and improve community health, all while keeping some features free for residents.
