Man Arrested After Failed Armed Robbery

A Flint man is behind bars after a failed armed robbery attempt at Lapeer’s Holiday Inn Express on June 7th. Police say Dequantell Jamerson, 37, jumped the hotel counter with a bag hiding what looked like a gun, demanding cash before fleeing. No money was taken, and no weapon was found. He was arrested near a nearby Burger King and arraigned two days later. Jamerson, already on parole, now faces armed robbery charges and a possible 25-year minimum prison sentence if convicted.
