Kimball’s Nolan Mandel earned his third Major League Fishing victory in two seasons by winning the Phoenix Bass Fishing League tournament on the Detroit River last Saturday. Mandel’s five-bass catch weighed nearly 23 pounds, earning him $10,900 and the top spot in the Michigan Division standings. He started on Lake St. Clair but switched tactics after spotting bass near the bottom, using finesse lures for most of the day. The next Michigan Division event is July 26th in Trenton.
