Mental health is possibly the most important component of overall health. The way you think affects everything else in your life. The stigma associated with mental health sometimes keeps individuals from seeking the help they need.
To support mental health and the wellbeing of those in Michigan, a centralized workplace mental health hub has been created by the Michigan Departments of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO).
The hub will share resources and strategies aimed at employees and employers to address mental health in the workplace. It was found through studies conducted by LEO that employers who invest in their employees’ mental health saw improved employee satisfaction, increased productivity, as well as reduced absenteeism and increased productivity.
The state also announced a 30-min webinar series moderated by LEO’s Deputy Director of Labor, Sean Egan that will discuss improving mental health in the workplace. The webinar will feature input from experts in the field. You can join in on Thursday, January 19th, at 11:30 a.m.
