Michigan drivers can now get classic white-on-blue and white-on-black license plates, bringing back designs from the 70s and 80s. Signed into law by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, the new legacy plates cost a one-time $55 fee, with $50 going to the Michigan Transportation Fund for road improvements. A $10 renewal fee applies yearly. The plates will be available for most passenger vehicles, including disability and personalized options. Residents can order online, at dealerships, or by appointment at Secretary of State offices.
