Michigan GOP governor nominee Tudor Dixon chose Shane Hernandez as her running mate to tackle the issues faced by the average Michigan resident. A former state lawmaker, Hernandez says there are four areas that will be addressed if they win the election.
Public safety, education, infrastructure, and the economy are the top issues Hernandez feels affects families the most. He shares his thoughts on a few of these issues. “Crime rates in the state of Michigan have gone through the roof, murder rates are up 30% car jacking rates are up 700%. It’s unbelievable, but it’s true,” says Hernandez.
On education, Hernandez states that our 3rd grade students are failing reading tests at a 60% rate in the state of Michigan due to Gov. Whitmer keeping students out of school for up to a year and a half. “Parents are concerned about their kids struggling to catch up from a pandemic, meanwhile there’s this obsession from the state with sex and gender theory. That has nothing to do with teaching our kids basic skills,” Hernandez says.
