Camping at Michigan state parks will cost more starting August 1st, with fees rising for modern and semi-modern campsites and lodging. Campsite rates will increase by $4 to $10 per night, while lodging will range from $60 to $120, with deluxe options hitting $160. High-demand locations with 85% or more occupancy will include extra fees of up to 7.5%. Modern lodges will see phased hikes, eventually reaching $236 nightly, plus a $50 premium for popular spots. Rustic campsites won’t see any fee changes. The DNR says revenue will fund upgrades like cleaner facilities, better amenities, and improved customer service.
