More than seven years in the making, Port Huron leaders and residents are celebrating a long-awaited upgrade along the Black River. The Military Street Bridge Pocket Park is now open, transforming what was once a forgotten corner into a modern waterfront gathering space. The project includes new seating, improved access, and a steel pavilion designed for events and live music. Despite delays and redesigns, city officials say the result is stronger and built to last, with local crews leading the work. The space is already drawing interest for events and downtown activities.
